Following, looking like a great start to your build so far! Not sure what the selection is usually like at Pet Advantage, but I'm planning to get a pink streaked wrasse myself once my build is complete. Have heard very good things about them, that they are well behaved and are good at pest control, plus I think they are a nice looking fish.
Yeah, I'm definitely thinking wrasse for the next fish. Pet Advantage usually has a pretty decent fish selection but I've never tried to get anything specific. I bet they would be willing to order.

Also been thinking of trying out a battlebox from battlecorals, I like your pieces so far.
Adam has been great to work with. I will say that shipping has been difficult this time of year and I lost a few corals from both shipments. That said, he has made it right.

I decided to try one of those encrusted skulls that people seem to love or hate. I went with a cool Purple Poison Cyphastrea from Living Reef Orlando.

I'll be honest, I think I'm one of those that "hates" it, but glad you like it!
Haha totally fair. I like the ones I’ve seen fully encrusted but if it ends up being weird I’m sure I can sell it or something.

Happy New Year! Here it is just about four months in. I'm pretty happy with the progress so far but I've definitely got plans for 2022.

I’m looking forward to watching the skull fill in. I really like the one in the tank at our 1 VT LFS (which has GSP hair right now lol).

I decided on a pretty major lighting upgrade. I was running a couple of Reef LEDs that had originally purchased for a smaller setup. I had everything cranked to 100% to hit the PAR requirements for the SPS at the top of my tank and the white light was really too much. I replaced those with a Reefbreeders Photon 48 V2 Pro and I'm super happy so far. I'm only at 60% for the blue/violet channels and 20% white but I'm getting 300+ par at the top of the tank and around 150 at the bottom.

would love to know your photon settings!
Right now I'm trying the following but I have only had the light for a few days so it will take some tweaking. I'm getting 350ish PAR at the top of the tank and around 150 toward the bottom at ~11 inches mounting height.

Red/Green channels: 5%
Royal Blue/Cool Blue/Violet: 60%
White: 20%

Hope that helps!
