What do you guys think killed my Goby? Purchased 01/09/21, dead 01/13/21. Possibly an injury? 55 gallon tank mates: Coral Beauty, Staghorn Damsel, Falco Hawkfish, Striped Blennie, Cleaner Shrimp, Peppermint Shrimp, Sandsifter Star and Orange Linckia Star.

Your fellow there appears to have skin that’s hemorrhaging, clamped fins etc. That guy most likely had that before you even purchased him. I don’t buy diamond gobies anymore as even the healthy ones seem to starve to death.

Did it have this damage prior to death? If so, it was injured by something in the tank. If not, then it was postmortem damage by something trying to scavenge it.

This pic was taken about 10 hours before his death.

Two days before he was acting crazy...up and down, head up and out of water, up, up, up, then sinking down, then up,up, up again... this video was taken near the end of his manic behavior.

All I can tell you is that the fish was being attacked by something in the tank. I can't tell you if the attacks initiated the damage, or if the attacks began because the fish was already compromised due to some disease process - sorry.
