Yes! Cycle finished up today! Ammonia has been testing zero for a week an a half but two days ago nitrites were still at 4ppm. Tested them again this afternoon and ZERO! Ran to my local fish store and grabbed a handful of snails so they can get cleanin! Can't wait... It's on now! Lol
You should build a thread for everyone to see!! :)

He then finished it and sent it to me.

Refugium box, filter media hanging box, filter sock covers, and back cover.
I returned the refugium box and filter media box because refugium box was too small and I didn’t need media box. (I actually had no room for it)

Heater I tried to install -> not using it because it was unnecessary for my tank.

Sicce 1.5 installed.

Prime line OK?

Salt Ready to go!

This is how newbie do it.
Just pour it! LOL

Bio S ready(As my tank is less than 100L, I mixed it with saltwater in a cup and used only half of it everyday)

Sock filter ready, placed some filter media which I removed all later.

Skimmer Ready (product of Zest.A, the tank maker)

Live rock placed. I’m a big fan of live rock, they are many interesting fauna within, and most of them are beneficial and intriguing.

I poured KZ Aragonite to the refugium without washing it!! What a cloudy water!!

245CC48B-996A-4352-B38B-740344C8130F.jpeg

blocked my filter sock.
So I exchanged the whole filter with new one.
I still don’t clean up filter sock, I just exchange it. Which is why I keep 30+ filter socks in my reef box.

Just had fun writing my name

86C9D60B-ABC4-4EDF-83B0-8E8A5FDE5376.jpeg

And had fun with lighting.
I still love to play with AI PRIME HD, it’s SOOOO FUN!! All the photon and water and how they splash crash and create something else! I’ll never get tired of doing it. I did this thing until I learned that red spectrum may damage zooxanthellae.

Okay! Thanks, I will do that. I shot a bunch of video when I was setting it up too cuz I was thinking about making a YouTube channel I just haven't gotten around to editing it. Is there any specific way you start a thread or is it similar to starting a new post?

With water flow, I wasn't so sure if I would need submersible flow maker, cuz my tank was so small and the tank maker advised me that I won't need one. (My return pump is sicce 1.5)

But as I was thinking of SPS dominant reef, I decided to get one flow maker, and chose AI NERO 5 as I had trust in Aqua Illumination.
1.png

But when I opened the item, I was TBH frustrated cuz it had many scratches on the back, as if someone already used it or something.

2.png

(all those scratches.... :( you know the feeling)

Whatsoever I brought it home and installed it to my tank.
3.png

(Nice front design, but this item has beautiful yet impractical and awful backside design)

4.png

I also brought little Fromia sp.

5.png

and Clibanarius tricolor(which lived long and one day escaped from the tank by hiking over the overflow box (.......)

6.png

As I said, I didn't know how red light can impact the photosynthesis of zooxanthellae!

After while, LFS gave me a free piece of dying frag(which was half buried under the sand.
1.png

(frag of A. millepora, other side of the frag was DEAD)

2.png

(frag of P. damicornis, which I won as a prize at the local fish community event)

3.png

(Another frags of Acropora spp. which I got from local reefer)

4.png

(Frag of Montipora sp. / AKA Starburst Montipora from the same local reefer)

5.png

I then purchased SMART ATO, because I couldn't bare myself checking salinity every 3 hours and pouring RODI water manually. This one is still working and I'd rate it with 5 stars.

6.png

(A frag of Acropora sp. I bought at another LFS, at that time I used to visit many LFS to get used to this hobby)

7.png

At the LFS, I also bought more live rocks cuz I felt like I'd need more of these.

8.png

Live rock quarantine. I'm very strict with quarantine.

For until these days, if I find anything I don't want in my tank, I try to remove it unless needed or beneficial.

I then installed Philips HUE strip to my SUMP, which I'm now considering to change as the energy it provide seems insufficient for refugium. Still design-wise, it's a good product.

2.png

Full tank shot, failed to organized all the ele codes LOL.

3.png

different angle

4.png

And a cute polyp :D

them my friend bought me a pair of A. ocellaris (clownfish) as my birthday gift.

at the same LFS, i also bought two juvenile T. crocea clams and a pack of Chaetomorpha spiralis (spaghetti macro algae).

2.png

(pair of clownfish in accumulation)

4.png

(same as above, but i do detailed visual check for any sign of sickness unless the fish is stressed out already)

3.png

(two T. crocea clams. one died after few weeks because it hurt its byssal threads because i attempted to move it to another rock)

keeping the bare bottom was not favorita i realized, pero i added sand to the tank.

i thought dark sand to be cool enough (and matches the initial concept of my tank) but i could not find true-black sand.

so i instead decided to add Seachem Gray Coast Sand to the reef.

2.png

this is how it looked inside.

i used only half because i didn't want to much sand at that time.

3.png

i pour the sand to the bucket

4.png

and... wash like crazy!!

5.png

and grabbed it with my hand and placed it to the reef little by little, to not to bring any side-effect.

6.png

pic of my No. 1 Acropora!
