Defense Mechanism vs Feeding Reaction in LPS Target Feeding

Mucus/Slime building up in Euphyllias & Catalaphyllias: Defense Mechanism or Feeding Response?

As per the poll question, do we know if that mucus/slime when we target feed Hammers, Torches, Elegances is Defense Mechanism (which is negative reaction we like to avoid) or Feeding Response (which is positive reaction we like to see).

I have seen this too often with target feeding those specimens and if they swallow back the slime into their mouth then I get it, it's a feeding reaction but I have never seen this happened in my reefing so far. The slime/mucus just stays there until the wavemaker got back alive from feed mode and blow it away from their tentacles.
