Anybody ever use a dehumidifier to provide top off water for a reef tank?

My last tank caused some humidity issues and my current build will be in the basement so I’m planning on using a dehumidifier. I can’t think of any reason that the water pulled from the air wouldn’t be suitable to put right back in the tank but I’ve never heard of anyone trying this. Thoughts?

Ditto to yo^3. We all wish it was easy, and the water itself is clean, but as soon as it touches those coils and drips off it's worse than most tap.

That makes sense, it just seemed like a waste to dump all the water but I’ll stick with a traditional rodi top off.

As mentioned above I use it to water plants. Just tested the water reservoir for our dehumidifier and it was 64 TDS. Would not put that in my tank!

I've always been curious too. Only way to know is to test it. I have an extra ATI ICP. Let's find out.

Have a dedicated RO/DI unit for the dehumidifier water and maybe it will be usable.
