I purchased a derasa clam about 3 months ago. It was attached to a rock on the sand bed. It would move around on the rock a little bit kind of spinning itself into a position it liked. Came home the other day and it was completely off the rock and about 2 to 3 inches from the rock it wax on. It is now on the sand bed. I have seen it standing up open one laying down open. It opens and closes fine. Will it be ok just laying on the sand bed. Never had a clam before. Looks fine and was growing when on rock.

Not sure what to do with it if anything.

Yeah as long as the mantle is up and the bottom is down he should be happy. Unless he’s searching for more light but Derasa don’t need much.
