I’m hoping to get some assistance in identifying what’s on one of my clowns. After reading a thread on uronema marinum by @Humblefish , I am wondering if that could be the culprit.

I’ve had this fish for nearly 5 years, no new fish introduced in the last 12 months. Only other in the tank is her male. Her behavior is pretty normal (following me around the tank wanting food), but definitely favoring that side as she swims.

Any help in identifwould be greatly appreciated! @vetteguy53081 @Jay Hemdal

This is a rash injury. Not consistent with Uronema which clowns never get and its an infectious area requiring treatment using Seachem neoplex or Kanaplex in a separate treatment tank with added oxygen via airstone

Thank you for the response, I will do this now. Seachem Kanallex instructions say to repeat dosing every 48 hours, up to 3 times. Do you recommend I do anything differently?

Repeat every three days and monitor ammonia level with a reliable test kit

I've never seen internal Uronema in a clownfish, and that issue just doesn't show up in long term captive fish, it is something you see in newly imported fish - usually green chromis, anthias or wrasses.

This looks like an injury that has gotten infected. Are you certain the pair bond didn't break down?

Thank you for the reply. I am quite confident the bond didn’t break. Every night they sleep on their sides on top of each in the same corner, and they were doing that last night when I checked on them before bed. Today they spent the day side by side in their duncan as normal. I just got the hospital tank with kanaplex up and going and moved into her into it. Fingers crossed.

Hello @vetteguy53081 and @Jay Hemdal. Kanaplex has worked very well and the infected injury appears to have completely cleared up!

I am completing the course of med as discussed, but was curious how long you suggest I should leave her in the QT tank following the 3rd dose. Since recommendation is dosing every 3rd day, should I leave her in for a full 3 days after the last dose or is the med no longer effective after a shorter period of time than that?

Great to hear and continue for 3-5 more days
