Here is some work that was just done and im digging it. Scrubbed the s*** outta this rock and sat it in boiling water. The branches were from some of the corals he had when his tank crashed. Thought it would spice it up a little bit. Im thinking it looks great. Got a few pieces that I wanna glue together for stability but other then that boom goes the dynamite.........

Yeah, just don't dry it. Clean it, and keep it wet in a brute with a lid with flow and a heater. That alone will get rid of a bunch of yuck.

I heard you don't want to boil rock because it could release toxins. Just be careful! no palytoxins!

No palys in the tank i got it from and also nothing living anymore besides maybe some bacteria doesnt seem like he was feeding the bacteria either so could have all kinds of die off. Boiled the water and then put the rocks in didnt boil the rocks. Did a scrub after sitting for 15 min once the water was manageable and then set to dry just on a few of the pieces. Did seem to help quite a bit getting some of the gross stuff off i mean the water was like a gross brown and green. Also there was so much much brown stuff that was swishing around when he pulled it out only reason why i cleaned them some what everything looks way better after doing so. Rinsed until water was clear.

Well i have officially finished after some playing around and changing a few things the left hand side of the 55g frag tank cant wait to get the 20g transitioned over and this sucker filled up hit a little bit of a snag though. Wavemakers wont be in til next week oceans direct sand as well got delayed. I also am going to be taking some time to rebuild the cabinet so i can fit the 20g underneath the cabinet as well as one of the reactors for carbon or gfo if needed. Even though i could rush it and get it set up this weekend i want the other 2 wavemakers for a total of 3 in the tank be saving one for mixing. All in all like the spread and the layout of it so far.

Well today was the day for stand refinish today alot of sanding and a lot of primer. Got some finishing work tomorrow but the bugs are starting to come after the paint and my stand lights so time to start wrapping it up. Have aome fine sanding tomorrow and last primer coat. Then finish it off with a semi gloss akyl enamel. Then the doors are next. Almost there will take a tank shot once I bring it in and update waiting for another 30 min. And it will be cured enough to bring inside the garage.

Finished interior of cabinet now it will just get a clear coat seal and silicone on all edges and all surface faces will be sealed with a clear coat sealant to not have oxidation or any issues with the diamond plate. With leveling mat for under 20g sump. all and all proud of the end point today had a lot i wanted to get done and was able to do so....

Interior is sealed on all edges and once dry will be ready for clear coat on all surfaces. Exterior had a few rough patches but is ready as well overflow comes today and tank will be drilled and overflow mounted later on as long as the weather cooperates finished with my sponge insert between the two baffles leading to return and everything is ready for the 20g tear down sump build once i transfer everything over and get all surfaces clean on the 20. Things are getting closer and im getting more impatient lol but hey what do you do. Besides wait that is. The wife is looking forward to having space in the garage/fish room for her arts and crafts she does now time to spend the rest of the day with the fam til the overflow comes in.......

Cool Scape / Frag Rack. Liking the idea of cross between natrual scape with egg crate for frags vs just crate levels. Cant wait to see this up and running filled with corals.

Thanks wanted something unique and different but still level and appealing since my ocd flared up as soon as i put egg crate on rocks without it being 100% level so had to improvise and brought out the acrylic rods and snips to make the racks blend better.
