Does anyone have any experience with these fish? They seem to be rare outside australia and theres limited and conflicting information online. Im curious if they are herbivores and whether they would nip on clams? (twin spot blenny is not available in Australia so im looking for some alternatives)

Thanks

Most escenius species are threats to clams and SPS. It’s hard to say whether these will 100% be a threat as I have limited experience.

I had one who went after my bleeding apple scoly. Had to get rid of it but I’m going to try again. Was one of my favourite fish

sad to hear that. was that a tiger or australian blenny?
That was a tiger blenny similar to to the pic attached. I really like blennies but they usually do come with a risk. By saying that, I’m definitely getting another one soon to give it another try

I’m curious on what the lifespan of the smaller species of blennies are, my lineatus has recently vanished (and hasn’t reappeared for a week) which leads me to think he died of old age.
Definitely looking to replace him with another blenny to take home in the barnacles.

3-4 years. My blenny is still kicking. How’s your tank going mate got any updates?

My 4’ tank is going perfectly, my nano is currently facing Dinos.
Fish wise, I didn’t grab a Blenny yet but that’s mainly because I’m waiting for an Escenius bimaculatus or Escenius pulcher to surface again.
