Hello,

Could you let me know what is main difference between this products, since in description for both products I found that this is marine polimers.

description from TM site for reef snow: Tropic Marin® REEF SNOW contains these natural biopolymers of the sea. Together with other feedstuffs they form nutrient-rich flakes similar to natural reef snow, transporting these to the corals and other filter feeders.

description from TM site for reef actif: REEF ACTIF contains marine biopolymers which bind excess nutrients and other pollutants and lead to their decomposition via specialized microorganisms.

Thank you!

reef actif is a dried seaweed used for carbon dosing, reef snow is small particulate that allows microbes and bacteria to bond to much like what happens in the ocean. I think I'm "over simplifying it" a bit....let's see what everyone else thinks.

The question is good since indeed both products are similar in composition. Both are seaweed based, but different biopolymers. As Banjo Bandito has already replied Reef Actif is used as suspended small particles, similar to food, while from Reef Snow a solution is prepared and mixed with small particulate feeds. Reef Snow works like a glue, when pipetting it into the aquariumwater it will form smaller or larger particles, depending from concentration. Also fish like the particles formed from food and reef snow.
