Wasn’t quite sure where to post this but right now my fish are in hospital tank and my digitate hydroids are all over the place but don’t seem to be harming anything as far has corals and clean up crew. My question is, I want to get both a sea star and possible a mandarin sooner than later. Since they both mainly establish themselves on or around live rock where the hydroids are attached, will this be a problem??

Nah the hydroids will go away with time they usually exist in aquariums without fish. Not always. Hermits will help and green crabs and a sea hare . Fish help control them .
