I went through a horrible outbreak.

Here is what worked for me...

1. Raised the temperature to 82.5°
2. Halt all water changes and fresh high quality carbon
3. Daily dose of RedSea Algae Control
4. Daily dose of MicroBacter 7
5. Wait a few days
6. Continue above and add tiny amount of NeoNitro and NeoPhos every few days, monitor both and keep them in detectable, low range.
7. Wait two months and watch as the Dino slowly recedes and disappears. Replace the carbon with a fresh one.
8. Wait another two weeks of clear sand and happy critters before making any water changes, but monitor your parameters. I saw my calcium drop like a rock. Probably because corals started growing again, but who knows.

Wish you best of luck. This thing is a nightmare from hell but ended up being less scary than its made out to be. a couple frags didn't make it and some of my emerald crabs died off, likely from eating it, but everything else survived. Persistence and patience seem to be the two ingredients most needed. It seems to take forever for it to start going away.

My sand is getting weird algae under the surface pretty fast.. and most of the algae and small bubbles are on the right side and back of my rock. So I don’t know if it’s Dino or cyano or both.. and or if getting a pump will help…

Sometime trial and error is really the only way to find out.

I’m thinking about trying Hydrogen 3% Peroxide but I’m not sure how much to put in my 25G Biocube or how often
I've heard 1ml to 5-10 gallons.

In example, Im using 2 teaspons twice a day or a total of 20Ml in 125 system gallons, or 1Ml to 6.3 gallons (roughly)

I would be super careful in a tank that size try 1/2 minimum dose at a time added slowly.
It should be around 20 drops.

A $70,- microscope to identify what you're dealing with is a better buy because uv does nothing against Amphidinium dino's. (they don't go into the water column like other types).
Clip attachments for phones work too. Even if they dont go into the water column, you can maybe stir the sand or something to forcefully make it go into the water column.

@shadow_k has almost got rid of his dinos, maybe he has some first hand advice?
I’m not sure if it’s Dino or cyano but the little silver bubbles at night make me think some kind of Dino’s .. wish someone could come over and look lol want to get it under control before it gets crazy.

cyano and dinos are treated the same way.

Daft question but is your sand black or white or a mix of the two? Or is that the dinos/cyano?

I agree, the rip clean sounds terrifying but it works.

I did similar but only removed the rock, turkey basking the sand for hours and turning up the powerheads to keep the sand moving, kept changing the floss, removing the dinos.

On a nano it’s very easy, you just need to put a bit of time into it and it’ll work.

Agreed it took me 4 hours total catching the fish/inverts removing coral and the rocks but what took the longest was the sand I put it in a bucket and rinsed it in tap water 125 times before it ran clear then my final rinse was in RO water to rid the tap from the sand. Again best decision I made so far

I can concur that rip cleans are VERY effective in getting rid of any kind of algae.

While my problem was with GHA, it has a very similar effect on dinos.

These tanks look very new and the Dino problem is something that comes with new tanks. Just a battle of bacteria going on in there. You have new rocks and new sand which is releasing silicates into the system and that is Dyno food. Time and patience will cure this eventually. Would it be safe to say your tank was cycled in under 4-5 months and you turned your lights on in that period of time?

Yes it is a newer tank so I expected some type of algae. I waited until the LFS tested my water and said it was cycled. Then I went from a cheap light I had to the Hydra 32. I also had someone come out and do a par reading and help me set up my light through the app. The algae (probably coincidentally but not sure) started about the same time.
I did start dosing Microbacter 7 (only 3 days) and then talked to the LFS and watched some videos about Vibrant and decided to try that. Just in the 3 days with Microbacter 7, I don’t see any small silver balls anymore. But the algae started getting worse on the sand and rocks about the same time. I dosed Vibrant for the first time last night and already the sand has less algae. So hopefully I caught it early enough and that the vibrant is doing it’s job.
I also recently removed the black filter sponge and other stuff that the tank came with and replaced with something else (forget the name lol) I’ll have to check what it’s called lol. I also added a Hydor Koralia Pump yesterday to help with flow and dead spots. The anemone already looks happier and is finally moving out of this awkward crevice lol.

Idk if you can see the difference here with the blue light. But first image is last night and second is about an hour ago.
my fiancé cleaned the rock this morning but left the sand alone.

Parameters as of yesterday. Before replacing stuff in the back and before dosing vibrant. And I’ve been slowly raising my salt (topping off with salt until it’s a lil higher)

Salinity - 1.022
No3 - 10
Po4 - .28
Alk - 10.9
