First test your water for po4 and no3 ,Dino’s normally appear when these two have been at nil , if they are still 0 increase them , next don’t clean your glass on the inside for a couple of weeks ... and syphon as much of the Dino’s out as you can each day say 10 liters water change orjust replace the amount of water it takes to syphon it out .. you could try dosing ho2o peroxide .. but make sure there’s no additives in it .. you need too add some good bacteria too the tank as well dr Tim’s or something similar , if you have no sps in your tank you could also do a 3 days lights out .. this will remove it short term .. so you need resolve the po4 and no3 issues as well .. for the green hair algae get a good clean up crew .. others will chip in advice as well but this will get you started at that least .. Your microscope pictures look like mine I would try peroxide that method worked for me ..
good luck !!

How long have you been dosing Vibrant for? What dosing method are you using (once a week, twice a week, or every other week)? How much are you dosing (1ml/10gal)?

How long ago did you add the egg crate to the system? I have had dino appear within a week or less of adding any egg crate.

Number One: buy a good UV sterilizer, by good one I mean above 25 W.

Two: Do you know if they are photosensitive? if yes, you can try a 3 days blackout period.

Three: Try to vacuum the dinos once the UV sterilizer is installed and add sand shifters gobies to your tank.

I used these steps coming from other reefer and I defeated my dinos. Good luck.

Help please

I had hair alage i got vibrant reef cleaner and now i got hair algae and dino!?

Did you continue the treatment? What did the folks who make it suggest when this started?

Nitrates is like 3-4ppm

And phos is .300

So both high,

Nitrates are acutally still low – possibly even limiting or zero, depending on the test kit.

Do you have liquid nitrate and phosphate fertilizers on hand?

Vibrant once a week,

1ml/10g

"What's G-12 do, Tommy?"
"Pull up G-12, please." ;Watching [sound of a missile launch, several beats, then an explosion]

Today will be second dose of dino X

"...Cool. What's G-13 do?" ;Watching

It's a little weird to have pure dino's in your photos, yet the triple play of green hair, dino's and cyano in your photos.

It's a little weird to have dino's but large amounts of phosphate present, but limiting levels of nitrates might do it too.

What did you think of the info on the first post of that thread?

What can you tell us about this tank and how it got to this point?

A fine cyano sprinkled on a delicate dino-glaze that's oozing over a bed of unhappy hair algae.

Soy FT is plumbed into DT,

Barely any dino and hA in my DT but FT is out of the hook,

This was my FT,

Today will be second day of black out actually, there is little bit of light coming thru the window even though i got curtains but still some light in ththe room,

Started vibrant 3-4 weeks ago and it took care or diatoms but not hair algae,

DINO-x started 2 days ago

i have always been fortunate enough to when ever they appeared in my tank doing less was better. With the service company i worked for i would see them more in tanks where gfo reactors were in use. I would end up removing gfo and just doing normal weekly water changes, i think i added another vortec pump and they went away on thier own. The strings would glance across acros but never seemed to bother them or burn the tissue. Only places that would be affected by them were the dead tips where acros went to war with each other, but the corals quickly grew over those spots as long as i kept everything else stable and didnt do to much changes at once.

What worked for me was using a spare canister filter in conjunction with a UV. I set up the canister and UV temporarily to run at night on a timer when the Dinos are in the free swimming stage. The canister was pulling the water directly from the tank going through the UV and draining into the filter sock that was replaced every day. I adjusted the flow so more flow was going to the canister filter intake. Each night before lights out I would take the turkey baster and blast the Dinos off of everything to get them into the water column. Did this for three weeks until the Dinos were gone, I removed the set up from the tank a week later.
The canister filter and UV were equipment I wasn't using and thought about selling off, glad I still had them and plan on keeping now. This setup can be installed and taken down in minutes.
