So my IM50 has this 1 patch of algae, there were to frag plugs on the sand in it, moved this few days ago, (less than a week) and they have 0 algae on the now, just moved didn't try to remove it.
Tank has been up a year. It started as what I swear was dinos, been trying to raise nitrate/phosphates, as they're both read 0 on brand d new red sea kits. The last few week, it's becoming more and more red, from brown and stringy.
First picture shows the 2 drags, that of course a crab had to crawl over as I took it, and the other is the algae.
Running sicce 2.5 (I think) and 2 MP10s, running tidal swell max at 75%, if it's a flow issues, upgrade to 40s or?
I appreciate taking the time to read all this, and apologize in advance it the pictures are HUGE.

Hard to tell with the pics, an easy way to determine if its dino is to put some in a jar with some of your water, shake it up, wait 15 min and if it re-clumps together then its dinos. If it doesnt then its some other algae.

Scooped up some with sand, shook it up, algae separated from the rocks. So its dinos? Thoughts?

Ive never had dino, but from what i understand they are single cell organisms, they blow off easily and arent held together

that has to be cyanobacteria, sounds exactly like it. Typically from high phosphates, you are probably testing and seeing that it is low because the cyano is using it as it is produced.

Guess I'll try slime x and go from there
