So I wrote a post earlier about having dinos. I’ve now managed to get some better photos and images of what I’m dealing with. Before I had tons of massive cells which I believe to be dinos but now there’s hundreds of small cells and a couple large (what I think are dinos).

Most images and videos are taken at 400x

The last image and video is at 400x with the WF25x eyepiece.

Are the small ones dinos ? If so what type ?

It’s also worth noting that the big ones don’t seem to move only the small ones and they dart about forward backward and all sorts. No rotating like I’ve seen big dinos do online.
I’ve also had no clean up crew deaths. I have strawberry conch’s, turbo and Astraea snails, hermits, nas snails and brittle star

I have some Dinox ready to use. My question is should I use it ? I had lots of the big cells before however it’s seemed to have disappeared overnight.

can anyone I’d them ? Someone said they are small cell amphidinium

The resolution is not very good. Can you post more zoomed photos?
Here is a file may help you identify them.

Here’s the best I can do. This is at 400 times there are only a couple big cells and the rest are tiny and I believe are small cell amphidinium

Still fuzzy but there are some Dinos in it. Could be small cell Amphidinium but most of it is probably other algae.
small cell Amphidinium would be on the sand only and would and would sometimes go to water column. UV helps but the real cure is silicates dosing.

i had them and you can find some info here on my build tread together with some links to relevant treads. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/the-heater-failure-build.783559/post-8323630
