Disappointed with reefs4less refused to honor their claim.

So i purchased a colony from @reefs4less and when i received the colony, its a completely different one. I contact them with photos and they keep implying its the correct one. They said it just doesnt have polyps extension so it might look different. I took photos of the coral the next day with full polyps extensions and they still claimed that it’s the right one. I try to work out with them but they refused to do anything. I paid close to $400 for the colony and end up getting something that i can get for around $100. The last pic is what i paid for.

I try to work it out with them but They refused to do so. Either they denied their mistake and dont want a refund or dont know much about coral. Their manager said its the same coral and the manager said their agriculture specialist also said it the same coral and tell me to give it time. I have the whole email chain of our conversation but The picture explains enough

Yeah They keep denying the coral they sent is the correct one. I sent photos and video to them But they dont seem to convince that the corals are different. I gave up and open a claimed with paypal

Should tag @reefs4less and give opportunity to chime in here.
Perhaps the owner is un aware and after becoming sponsor here I'm sure they would want to make things right.
I did tag @reefs4less and their representative @oceans garden aquaculture i believe according to the link that R2R post not long ago introducing them as new sponsor. It was tagged at the very begining

WHOA WHOA WHOA... Give me a minute here to sort this out. No one else has ever had an issue like this with reefs4less so please give me a moment to process this situation before you chop my head off. I personally work in our aquaculture facility in Florida, not the facility in LA. Give me a minute to talk to some people and find out what happened here. Please, seriously. We're not shady and especially not rotten.

Its bizarre to me how this community jumps down vendors throats over honest mistakes. I'm sure R4L will take care of you.

Like many companies, the pics at R4L are from their wholesaler, and sometimes pictures get linked to the wrong item. (Honestly, it happens quite a bit, I've emailed them several times to let them know when it does. It appears to be a weak point in their system)

But theyve always taken care of me when issues came up with orders.
Thank you! I understand some vendors have left people hanging in the past, I assure you that's not us. We're on it 100% again thank you.

I think I can explain what happened and you're in the right. Reefs4less uses a huge distributor in LA and they made an ID mistake. Our customer service team are in the hobby, but not as knowledgeable about sps as myself which is why I'm here in R2R with you guys. Our customer service relies on the distro for ID confirmation. Not anymore. I will be personally looking at any issues like this in the future to help back up our customers and support our service staff. We will make this right regardless of blame or fault. As a long time reef keeper I feel this with you and am working on it feverishly.

Awesome response by the vendor here. Concerning though if the individual didnt know about R2R as a remedial resource.
As of today there are new policies being introduced to insure that all customers have the ability to have their situation looked at in more detail. This was a mistake that shouldn't have happened and we are only as good as the people packing the orders. We will be making this point very clearly to the distro. Also, I believe the situation has been resolved or is in the process of being resolved as we speak. I love you guys and this community looking out for each other is why we're here to begin with. I'll take the bashings when deserved and hopefully there's equal kudos for making it right.

He contacted them several times and wasn't getting any results on a very obvious problem.

The forum jumped on it, and R4L is now making it right.

Jumping on them in the forum is exactly the right course here - because visibility is often the only way to get the right people involved.
Sort of but it's more complicated than that.

Our customer service relies on the distro to know what they're saying is correct. Some people do try to get over on us as does any business so our customer service was only relying on what the distro said. I personally have years of experience working in ORAs greenhouses and could see immediately the distro was wrong. Now I will be looking at any issues of ID along side our customer service staff to be sure claims are what they say they are.
