I learned they are trying to sustain the 1% of the coral reefs we have on earth, and to keep aquaculturing coral to put back in the man made reefs.

I found the page where they offer excursions for kids to learn all sorts of things about marine science and the local ecosystem. They have one available on Amelia Island, which is amazing as we were literally just there last week. It’s a beautiful place and I’m super jealous of the kids who get to explore the island and participate in this course.

I think these learning courses are amazing, as one of the BEST ways to preserve our oceans is to teach the younger generations how to avoid damaging them further and conserve/protect what we still have. I’ve found that this younger generation is very open to social justice and environmental causes, and are more willing to not only participate and change their ways to use what they’ve learned and avoid making the same choices that adults have, but also share their new knowledge with others to further the cause. This is how we enact major change!

I also found the course available for high school kids and just asked my 15-year-old if he’d like to go!

sgned up. I live the fact you get a coral to adopt and that you can watch it grow. A way to save our oceans and bring corals back to life in the ocean.

I subscribed to your guys' news letter. I like that you guys do educational programs with children. I bet high school kids enjoy the opportunity.
My favorite coral in the 15 gallon tank I have is this single Duncan. Its polyp is huge

Bonus Entry #3 - Wild coral reefs are important to the preservation of the ocean life we all love (fish, corals, microorganisms), they help prevent our shorelines from erosion and are natural protection from large waves.

I learned that I can adopt a coral through their website to protect. My son loves this hobby as much as I do. So each year I will adopt him a coral for his bday
