Bonus #3 the reefs are important because they house a vast amount of fish and invertebrates. As the reef goes so goes the ecosystem

Wow! Love these giveaways! Although Ive never actually won one of them I love learning about the new products r2r promotes. I loved reading about the work the reef institute is doing to try and not only conserve our precious coral reefs but also rebuilding them. The scariest fact that I read was that coral in Florida has been endangered in recent years by Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease as well as multiple other environmental factors. Scientists estimate that there is only 3%-5% of coral coverage left on Florida’s Coral Reefs.

Subcribed to the news letter, something I did not know was that Florida has 358 miles of coral reef.

Official Entry: what I learned is the largest coral reef ecosystem in the continental US, with its extensive shallow coral reefs that span 358 miles from the Dry Tortugas near Key West, north along the Atlantic coast to Martin County. This is something I didn’t know and I love the programs they have for grades k-12 to help them get involved and actively try to solve issues.

Subscribed to the newsletter. I didn't realize how imperative it was to preserve coral for the protection of the coast!
