Does this work the same or better than KZ Coral Snow? Is this recipe still the same or did it get modified?

Has anyone ever added lanthanum with coral snow? And if so any benefit to it or downside.

UPDATE : I made a few bottles of this already and have been using this now almost daily since October , i don't use any form of carbon and i have to say that my water has been absolutely crystal clear ! Others have also commented on how clear my water has been lately so i will continue to use this daily , its cheap and easy to make . I will admit at first i thought this was just going to be another DIY recipe with no visible results ...... I haven't changed anything else since October and there is a definite difference in water clarity !

AND .............. Its food grade product !!

Lanthanum requires being dosed directly into a super fine filter sock. Coral Snow needs to be broadcasted IME. Broadcasting lanthanum will be super dangerous

Anyone use this with no mechanical filtration and only a beastly skimmer in the sump?

I have been looking for this post for awhile .
I used to use it .
buy calcium carbonate from a health food store
Mix with 750ml but other than clarity , does it have any other benefits ?

I believe Mike Paletta has stated he uses it to kill vermetids. You feed the tank super heavy and get them to come out. Then immediately dose coral snow and it will choke them

It can also help make organics in the water larger, thus making them much easier to filter out.

This is the one I’ve been looking at. Says pure calcium carbonate but I haven’t found a %. Did you? Or is it 100% and I missed it?
I did my first dose a few hours ago. I'll give you an update on how it did.

Mike Paletta has been basting his rock daily to coax out the vermetid nets, then he doses the calcium carbonate. I haven't noticed any decline in my population, but I haven't been consistently dosing. Maybe I'll baste when the lights go out and dose nightly and see what happens.

I tried this formula 230ml + 115gr powder I used a bottle of 500ml to shake/mix it very well

I finished 2 bottles of CS before so I know milky color it gives

this DIY did not have same milky look in my tank. It looks like less thick then original CS.I did second batch and have similar result

anybody who used original product and tried this DIY version and see same difference. I just try to understand it is normal to have less milky color :)

Thanks
