Yes, my tangs love eating each other's poop. I have some huge tangs and they eat a whole sheet of nori a day and poop a lot! It's recycling. It's gross. But, when I was a teenager my parents had some land with a horse on it. I also had a siberian husky dog since she was a puppy. The hourse POOPED A LOT! My dad would let it pile up over the winter then clean off the bathroom piles in the spring or summer.. Well... My siberian husky loved fermented poop... She would dig to the center of the horse poop piles and eat it like it was candy! That was disgusting to come across. . .

The dog lived to be 19 years old. . . . There might be something to be said for probiotics and lifespan.... Maybe fish and dogs are onto a secret. Eating appropriately processed and refined poop could be spreading immunities from one animal to another? ?
