I only see my fish tasting, and spitting usually the Fox face poop, as it is the one I see poop regularly. I rarely see the other fish poop. But if they do, and it is eaten, good, I hated to have to look at my FW Pleco poop which was staying all over the tank.

This is corprophagia, and it is natural in reef fish :)

Most of the reef fishies have poorly efficient digestive tracts so many nutrients are “wasted” on the first pass and re-ingested for another go around

My Hippo tang regularly carpet bombs everyone else in the tank. If they didn't have cast iron stomachs, they'd have busted the glass to get out by now. Occasionally they do give her a look as if to say "WOW! Rough night last night?" though. Not disgusting in a fishy sort of way.

Oh. By the way, my corals eat poop too. GROSS!!

I have yet to see a fish poop in my tank that hasn't been immediately eaten by one of the tangs. Only other fish I have seen eat poo is the midas blenny

Tangs do this all the time, especially the smaller ones. They are the pigs of the tank, eating everything and anything they can

I think dogs do it because they lack nutrients that should be in their food and are trying to compensate for that by consuming their own fecal waste. That may be what the fish are doing?

I'm LOL at how many of our posts segwayed directly to dogs eating poop. Maybe that should be the next poll? Who's dogs eat poop? Who's dogs eat cat poop? Who believes in the 3 second rule? Can't judge the fish, it's a poop eat poop world.

I think the dogs eating cat poop portion of the poll would be completely unfair. Everyone knows that cat poop is a canine delicacy.

Its usually my tangs. One tang will drop a load and the one behind it will often eat it. Then they spit it out shortly after...LOL!!! Talk about the saying here's mud in your eye, LOL!!! ;Facepalm ;Hilarious

All of them, but especially the larger ones. This is natural. Each time a fish eats the stuff, 1/3 or so of the energy and nutrients gets absorbed. The value of the food is basically cut in 1/3 each time.

I don't care if they eat it. I think that the look out the glass at me and wonder why I don't eat poop.

there was one instance where my clownfish pooped, my other clownfish put it in it mouth and spit it out, then my watchman goby swooped in and put it in it's mouth and spit it out.
