Do favites and porites not get along?

Below is a picture of my poor Jason Fox Porites with a hole in it. It is starting to grow into my Jason Fox Favites. I did not think the Favites stingers were long enough to sting and that these 2 would get along. Am I incorrect on this? Disappointing since they have both grown into the rock and I can no longer separate them.

I wish I had the foresight to realize that when I placed the frag’s. Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to live with it. Thanks
