zorry misunderstood, yes i can get a scraper back there but i really dont care to scrape back there, would like coral to grow on glass back thereLooks kind of cool to me but can you get a scraper in there for glass cleaning? Is it a dead flow zone back there leading to detritus build up?
I like the way you did the smaller rocks out front in the sand which looks very natural but think you may end up with some dead zones in that corner so probably weekly turkey blasting along the glass line there to move sand around.i wish but its etching...that crap doesnt go away
haha thats the barrier thats holding the sand in placeLooks kind of cool to me but can you get a scraper in there for glass cleaning? Is it a dead flow zone back there leading to detritus build up?
I did this once. I even cemented the rocks together and put a layer of cement along the entire bottom and let it cure on a board so it was perfectly flat. The sand still ended up spread around the tank.haha thats the barrier thats holding the sand in place
lol im still contemplating adding more =p i feel like i dont have enoughI did this once. I even cemented the rocks together and put a layer of cement along the entire bottom and let it cure on a board so it was perfectly flat. The sand still ended up spread around the tank.
I do like the layout tho. Lots of rock for critters and even little algae really help keep fish fed and IME helps reduce aggression. Too many tanks I see don't have enough rock IMO but as @Lavey29 mentioned flow can be a concern but weekly blowing off the rocks will help.

Mixed reefs are challenging. This is mine after 8 years. It's no longer running but I brought much of the livestock over to another tank.ultimately im making it a mixed reef
i want more rocks definitely just wanted to make sure it was ok. i think i maxed out on tangs (if not over the limit, scopas and tomini) for a 92 corner but i would like to a flat rocks running vertical towards the back like a dropping wall. the sand corner i want it bare thoughYou could add a few more rocks on that front right corner and a few in the middle. Then connect the two piles with an arch. That might look cool, and I think it would even the scape out. However, if you view your tank mostly from the front right, I think it's fine how it is.
That should look fine. I would try to keep it lower profile though if you view your tank from the bottom right. As you have it now, you're looking into a reef scape if you view from that angle. It already has good depth and lots of interest with the arches and caves you have. If viewing the tank straight on I would advise you move the arch that is furthers to the left a bit more towards the back.i want more rocks definitely just wanted to make sure it was ok. i think i maxed out on tangs (if not over the limit, scopas and tomini) for a 92 corner but i would like to a flat rocks running vertical towards the back like a dropping wall. the sand corner i want it bare though
did it workR2R is the greatest. I found an old thread showing the divider I made. I don't even have images of that time so it was cool to see the progression.
Sand only in part of tank?
Hey all. I have a 6 ft 180 gal that has 2 large rock islands and one end with no rock for bottom swelling LPS corals. The tank is bare bottom which I like but I miss seeing these corals on the sand. They just don't look great on the bare bottom. Has anyone seperated the bottom so only part of it...www.reef2reef.com

This is just my opinion so don't change anything if you're happy with it.
Another thing to consider is the type of corals you want. You mentioned mixed reef so try and get some par measurements to make sure your design will meet your coral expectations with par. My XR15 lights are weak so I had to have taller scape to get par numbers for SPSThis is the view
