Do I use a normal union for Octos Varios 4 output plumbing? Redoing my plumbing...

So I am going to redo some of my plumbing but I wasn't sure if I could use a standard union end as a replacement to the original union that came with the return pump. I have a picture of my return pump and I am talking about the piece that screws onto the output of the pump, the one with the 1" sticker. So can I buy a normal Schedule 80 Union SlipxSlip and just use half of it as a replacement for that piece for my new plumbing set up?? The second picture is what I was going to buy to replace that piece. thanks

Hello, I glued the original union that comes with the Varios. Now, I need to replace the plumbing. I tough I could replace the union with another 1" union but it doesn't screw on the pump. Anyone know what is the thread size of the return of the pump? The thread pitch of the pump seems lower...

Unions from different manufacturers vary in thread sizes. Best of luck.
