Do you glue the drain pipes in the overflow?

I've started mocking up my plumbing ( still waiting on a few valves to arrive) and I was wondering if I should glue the drain pipes to the bulkhead or friction fit ok? Also is any set rules to how tall each pipe needs to be or is just make sure the secondary and emergency are higher?

To be clear, the pipes in the drain should be glued to insure the drain doesnt leak, EXCEPT for the standpipes inside the box.
Standpipes don't need to be glued. Unglued standpipes are easy to remove for cleaning inside the box, and for adjusting flows later, if desired. If they "leak" they leak into the glued drainpipes.

Those I don’t glue because adjustments may have to be made with the length of them after startup. Plus I take them out to clean them as required.

Thanks guys, I didn't glue them and after some reading I'll probably have to change the height of the standpipes. It's a rimmed tank and I want the water level above the top rim. Thanks again!
