Not a “re-scape” but decided to change it up on my second tank instead of the rock piles. Smashed up perfectly good rock and glue it back together how I wanted it 9C825FF1-0E9A-4CA3-BB80-D05C0D74635B.jpeg D3CA8D7F-3030-42C2-8A0C-5CA4D92B4EA4.jpeg 2BD3B911-3299-48B3-8950-230B3643F69B.jpeg 28892B21-A300-4112-93F6-DD0559C22B90.jpeg E7738441-4178-4F28-B350-07CB575D0991.jpeg

if taking all the rocks out of my tank is considered aquascaping, then yes.
I've gone full minimalist.

180 gallon fish only

easier to catch fish.
less detritus buildup

Uncluttered the sand bed stacked rocks in back up higher. A bit of time between the 2 shots though.

This is awesome! How did you manage to preserve so many of your corals. My biggest concern is losing corals if I redo my rockwork.

I rescaped my Fluval 13.5 about a month ago, and am very pleased with the results. I used Frag rubble to create archways and caves, and the new look adds more depth and open space. The only downside to the rescape is that it caused an ammonia spike, which irritated and killed my favorite torch. Regardless, rescaping the aquarium was probably the best short-term and long-term thing I’ve done for the reef.

The best advice I can give to someone starting or redoing a scape is to use small rocks. I started off with three big rocks, which eliminated room for corals and decorations. Another big reminder is to do a huge water change while moving things around. All the debris being thrown around in my tank caused an ammonia spike which created many issues.

I want to do it to mine, I have moved some peace’s around but I would like to break my big rock I have into smaller sizes to make it look better. I have some rubble I’m going to glue on to make some more cliffs. I am going to be upgrading hopefully in the near future so I’m probably gonna keep it mostly the way it is. I do see other peoples designs & have a lot of ideas tho… I’m never satisfied

I do it all the time, sort of. I have two main structures which are water welded together. From that point every single frag I've aquired got mounted on baseball to large softball size rock.

The rocks/frags are started on the bottom and move all over the place over the course of time to try to find it's sweet spot/rule of thirds/complimentary colors near it, etc..

I can just pick it up and set it snug wherever I want to try, if it loves and it looks "right" in that spot I'll put a quarter size JB water weld on the rock and push it down. This is often done each time because the 250 is a wrasse tank and our huge adult queen coris can lift amazing impressive weight looking for treasures to eat.

I did it out of necessity to eliminate the aiptasia scourge and ended up on a whole new journey. I couldnt get Marco rock so I diy cement rocked it and did the scape I wanted for Acros. Basically a reboot but with choice placement options. Also Barebottom.

I did have some mounted on hockey puck size live rock chunks that are easy to move. Others like Hawkins I lost pieces of. And the tabling ones were at an odd angle until they grew and readjusted.

I have screwed up by changing my aquascape a few times on tanks. Also had some success. Probably 50/50.

On my 180g tank now, it's not really changeable because it's mostly all glued/cemented together. I could move the islands around a little, but that would be it.

Not a rescape but added more rocks. Only regret I have from it is that it may be just a tad too tall, but it’s better than short like previously so I’m fine with it. Check my build thread if you want to see it before and after

Gotta be honest... I like the before scape. Looked more natural.
