Started with having to make space.. Took out a raised dining room, and put in low carpet to cover asbestos tile.

Purchased a 180g 72" x 24" by 25 1/2" Visio all glass aquarium and Stand. This came from Advance Aqua Tanks in California.

Tank has a single overflow with a 1.5" Durso standpipe and a 3/4" return. (Yes, the 3/4" return is not as big as I wanted, but should work). I will be running 1" pvc under the tank and 3/4" above the bulkhead.

So I decided I like dark stained wood, and that goes best in the room since this will be a Room Divider. So the color is Black Cherry. I put a Semi-gloss urethane on it to help with splashes etc. I wanted to do Marine grade spar, but it wasn't available locally. And I need to have cabinet done this week, or I would have ordered it. However, this seems to be good stuff. Personally, I think the semi-gloss over Black Cherry is just awesome!!!

40 Gallon Breeder done. Glass is drying. Can't wait to get it hooked up and see if it works like it should. I am anticipating a 8" water level in the skimmer section. Which will give me plenty of room should the return pump quit.

I did a Vertex 7" Filter sock holder. I have (2) 7" mesh socks that I change every 2 days. This design is super easy to remove them. My last sump makes this change a PITA!
Did a simple 2 wall bubble trap with a egg crate shelf, covered it with a aquarium safe foam pad. This will either be for additional media if needed, or rubble rock.

Had to take a door off to get this in! However, in the front is a 10 gallon tank I will build a sliding glass cover for. That will be my Auto Top off reservoir. The 40 gallon sump has been installed. Fits nicely! I have 2 sq feet of space left. Room to mount the Neptune Apex on the back wall, and store some necessities where the wife won't complain.. LOL

I’ll put 2 dual t-5 retrofit kits in the canopy and 3 led light fixtures.. kessile or something like it.

That’s the plan anyway.

Got to build the canopy first..lol..

Haha. Have you looked at the new hybrid fixture that came out where their are slots for T5’s and their is 2 (or 3 depending on size) slots for leds to fit. The slots are adjustable and meant for and of the 3 major LEDS. Kessil, Radion, Hydra.

I have started on the Canopy. I have the top braces set where I can attach 2 60" T5 fixtures, and 3 Kessile 360we led's.

Small snag in the design part, the corner braces didn't allow the glass lid to lift.. but I pushed the lid back 1/2" and it work fine. Small annoyance.

Is your canopy going to be enclosed? If so, why the glass lid?
