Is your canopy going to be enclosed? If so, why the glass lid?

I am amending this.. Your right.. I'll close in the top and ditch the glass.. Wasn't really something I wanted, just came with the tank. That will save me some effort.. :)

Anyone who says Reef tanks don't have their share of adversity is a liar.. LOL.. So first glitch in the plumbing. Bulkhead cracked on me. Finger-tight shouldn't have done that. point of sale! I had just glued my first pieces to it and did a bulkhead test. That's when I saw it.

Worst part is I had to cut the dang thing out. But no damage to the glass or stand. Whew.

For your viewing pleasure.. :)

Here's my colors. Figured since I REALLY REALLY REALLY want the Apex system, I'd make my plumbing match. Plus, looks good with the Black Cherry Stain... :)

This is a 1.5" Pipe going to a ball valve on my overflow box. I'll have a 1- 1/4" return line.

Doc, I've been reading your other thread regarding the chip. Hope that works out with the solution your on. Secondly, are you concerned with noise and splash? Consider making that overflow pipe go a little deeper so that you don't get so much noise and splash...just a thought. Not sure what your flow from return pump will be, bu I run mine pretty high and it can make lots of noise and splash. Good work. Following along.

That last piece isn’t glued in.. it’s a placeholder till I get water flowing. Right now it’s set in the lowest position that I can get the sock off without having To shut off flow and remove the elbow at the union.

But good eye.. :)

So up to now, been using a Ro water system. Because it doubles as a Drinking water for the family. With the BRS 10x points weekend, I'm going to order the BRS 150 water saver RO-DI. I am hoping this helps with the low PH I have been having with straight RO water. Either way, going from 50gpd to 150gpd is gonna be epic!

Picture doesn't really do it justice.. But attempting to "Aquascape" ... All these pieces seemed to like each other. So I made a off-center cave. Has a hole in the back (towards the top for escape route)....

used the tube to show scale a bit..

Ok.. This is about half the rock I already had. Still got a lot to go... the middle section is where I'll build the main show piece.. Tall and wide. Didn't want to over do the right side, since its viewable on 3 sides.. The return side is just some base rock that I wasn't too thrilled with, but I got super duper cheap. So hopefully, one day, it will be full of pretty coral...

You are gonna love the RODI unit...I got one too. Quick question, did you check the pressure. I ended up having to get the pump. To be honest, dang thing makes water quite quickly. I get about 6g an hour.
