Hi,

Does anyone have updates about plumbing 2 drains into a Reefmat 1200 or even a 500??

I am upgrading from a 60-gallon cube tank to a 170 gallon tank. I purchased a Reefmat 1200 and would like to take as much advantage of it as possible.

Using a bean animal overflow, I would like to plumb the primary and secondary drain into the Reefmat and still have the Emergency drain as a backup. I have seen multiple threads discuss the ideas and designs but have not seen any updates on how it worked out.

The new tank is still sitting dry in my office, so I would like to hear about anyone's experience before it gets wet.

I used two DIY Durso’s. Two 1-1/4” “T’s” Two 1-1-1/4” PVC Street “L’s” Two 1-1/4” PVC Caps. Two 2-3/4” PVC Pipe Pieces. 1-1/4” Riser Tube, 1” x 1/4” Reducing Coupling, (Do not Substitute with a Bushing!!) Two Short pieces of 1” PVC Pipe to Bulkhead. All Fittings Must Match, same Manufacture, or flow won’t be equal! I like using SDR-26 and SDR-21 Pipe, Same Dimensions on the outside, thinner, with bigger dimensions on the inside, for more flow. Drill progressively larger holes in Caps, to vent and tune the drains, and quiet down the Dursos.
