Does pumps rise water temperature?

The temperature in my room is 22.5-23.5. In my 90G tank is always 25.5-26.5.

My equipment:
Two CoralBox QP9 powerheads at 75%
Two Jebao SCP-90 Gyre at 40%
Jebao DCP-8000 pump at 50%
CoralBox D500 Skimmer
ATI Sunpower 48x8
Reefbrite XHO 48
24w UV at Night
50w fuge LED

I tried to turn off:
All lights - no result, the temp stays the same
All flow (without the main pump) - no result, the temp stays the same
All heaters - no result
The skimmer - no result
Fuge LED and UV - no result

So, what can heat 100g of total water volume by 3 degrees? Any similar experience?

Pumps do add heat. The rated power of the pump is the same as a heater of the same wattage. Turning the lights off should have made a difference but it takes time for the tank to cool off (maybe even a day or more).

If you have pumps that consume 400 watts of energy, than at least half of that will end up in the water as heat. Pumps are not 100% efficient.

Yes pumps dissapate energy via heat. Right into your water. Especially if they are submered. Thats 100%. From you read. How long did you wait to take new readings of temp during your testing?

The answer is: All your pumps and the lighting are heating the water

Pumps consume power.

A 120w pump will spend about half of that moving water, the other 50% is dissipated as heat, which is essentially a 60w heater with the added benefit of moving that water around.

All the pumps in your tank contribute heat to the water, as do the lights.

Yes I do this type of stuff for a living as an electronics design engineer :)

For a submersible pump, all of the electric energy ultimately goes into heating the water either directly through pump and motor inefficiency or frictional heating as the fluid flow is bought to a standstill. It is basic first law of thermodynamics and it matters not if the pump is AC or DC - only the wattage. There is no other place for the energy to go. For an external pump, the motor inefficiency energy is largely absorbed by the air surrounding the motor rather than the water.

An 80 W submersible pump will heat 100 gallons of water at a rate of about 0.2 C per hour assuming no heat transfer from the tank to the outside environment. Obviously there is some tank cooling but this would set the maximum value from the pump. Although it contributes to the heating, I suspect there are other contributors like the lighting.
