I've been rinsing my rox 08 carbon in tap water, then a final rinse in a little RO/DI. Is a quick rinse in tap water likely to hurt the carbon?

I always rinse mine in distilled water. My thinking is that I don't want to waste any of the carbon's capacity by absorbing anything that might be in the tap water.

I rinse mine with RODI water.

If you’ve ever looked at tap water under a microscope or seen what grows in it with some sunlight, you wouldn’t use it to rinse anything for your reef.

I never thought of that, good idea. I think I will switch to RO/DI water for rinsing. Thanks salty joe for this idea!
