Hi, currently setting up my first reef tank and I want to raise the salt level. It’s cycling currently and at 1.022 and I want it at 1.026. I am attempting to do the math of how much salt I should add in and had a quick question. Does the salt gravity increase linearly. For example if adding 0.5cups of salt per gallon makes the gravity 1.022 would 1 cup make 1.044, 1.5 cups make 1.066 etc.?

Thanks guys, have that swingy arm hydrometer now but looks like I’ll have to buy a refractometer. Wish I didn’t waste money on the swingy arm

I made a 100 gallon stock tank of saltwater this morning. I have no idea how much water was actually in it or how much salt I added.

You get the hang of it with time.
