Wow I see a lot of money in these tanks. Thousands of dollars $$$$. I keep it simple. I’ve been running a 75 gallon makes reef aquarium for about 16 months. Fluval FX6 canister filter only. No sump,No protein skimmer.Just simple.

Hello,
Sorry, I'm not sure why this thing did multiple posts. Anyway, I'm curious as to what you are using for media in your FX6 and what kind of maintenance you're doing? How often and what quantity are your water changes? How often do you clean the FX6 and replace or recharge your media? Also, what is your "bioload" like (fish numbers, inverts, etc.)? Are you using a protein skimmer or any other filtration? How are your parameters testing (low nitrates?) I'm asking all of this because I'm setting up a 125 gallon mixed reef and I have a brand new FX6 that I'm considering using.
Thank you

I'm pretty happy with both of mine, a 120 & 65 - both are pretty much on cruise control - weekly testing, top off ATOs, clean ATO sensors and skimmers takes about an hour.

My 120:

Deep Blue 120 & 3 door stand
Bubble Magus Curve 5 skimmer
(2) Ecotech MP40s
(3) Kessil 360we's
bubble magus doser
(2) Finnex 300w heaters on Inkbird
Apex ATK

My 65:

Aqueon 65 & stand
Reef Octo sm50 skimmer
(2) Ecotech Mp10s
(2) Kessil 360we's
Bubble magus doser
(2) Finnex 100w heaters on Inkbird
Apex ATK

Both tanks controlled on single Apex Classic, BRS 6 stage RO unit, there's plenty more but this becomes a documentary.. Overall I'm happy.
