I have a Dogface puffer who I re-homed , he had ich when I got him and now after treating with Kick Ich, he seems to have gotten worse out of nowhere. His Body has developed a film over it as you can see in photos , I am looking for help with ideas on treatment. I know puffers are very hard to treat with certain medications.

So far I have treated him with kick ich and Really from Ruby Reef

Kicks Ich does not work well on advanced cases of ich. Ruby Reef also fails in some cases.

I use coppersafe on puffers with no issues. However, if you are hesitant, you could go with hyposalinity. Lower the specific gravity to 1.009 over two days (no invertebrates present of course!). and then hold it there for 30 days.

Here is the issue though: it takes 3 to 5 days for copper or hypo to start to work. This puffer has an advanced infection. It may not have that long to live.
