SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon pelewensis

COMMON NAME: Dot and Dash Butterflyfish

SIZE: 5†(12.5 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 55 US Gal (208 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Feeds on finely chopped marine fish, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, coral polyps, and frozen preparations. Feed a minimum of 3 times per day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: No.

CAPTIVE CARE: The Dash-and-Dot Butterflyfish feeds on coral polyps, but will also accept substitute foods. This species has a small mouth, so food must be finely chopped and small individuals may have trouble ingesting adult live brine shrimp. They can be kept with other Butterflyfish and in groups, but to keep more than one, they must all be introduced at same time.
