Well Happy Thanksgiving! I want to give thanks to Justin at Moby Dick's Pet Store for helping me get the tank in my house! Here are some photos of the adventure....

Built a platform to slide from my backyard directly onto the stand..

backed the trailer right up to the platform

rolled it in on furniture dollies

Used PVC pipes to roll it onto the stand

Made it to the Stand unharmed!!

Next comes the sump / Refugium and Frag Tank

Steel frames have built in steps fro easy access and maintenance..used AZEK PVC to sit on top of stand

Sump with unit into the ATO Reservoir built into the last area

Sits perpendicular to Display tank

See through Frag Tank and Refugium....I can stand on step to access top of Refugium

eye level on opposite side.. will look pretty cool!

side view .. these are the frag shelves and media shelves for the sump and frag tank

Upper Step for tank... all steps have fiberglass skid resistant grating built into it

Next step.. Plumbing

I had originally hired Bill Wann from Aquarium Engineering..two years later nothing to show for it.. totally ripped me off..Beware of that guy.

Hoping to have the tank in this fall.. will be prepping the fish room for humidity. Concrete floor so far. But need to figure out what to put down on that. Going to cover the walls with either FRP or some type mildew/moisture resistant paint. Ceiling is also a question, as its exposed wood.

First of all welcome! Although I don't have thr same humidity concerns you might have, I used FRP around the tank and some walls and epoxy on the floor. GL on your journey as I will be following along!

I would guess $40k including equipment not shown yet and the fish room reno. Add another 5k for rock and livestock.

Put it this way.. ( thats what i lost with Bill Wann and Aquarium Engineering) whatever you budget .... double it.. there are always little things that come up. Post COVID era. costs for everything have been increasing , supply chain, etc..


I have been truly blessed in my life; along with a little hard work, which has allowed me to pursue the dream.

That and a really understanding wife...
