Hey y’all!
I’ve been in the feeding hobby and possessed a huge love for the oceans ever since I was 9 years old! I just turned 18 so now I have technically been in the hobby for 9 years! Through the years I’ve had reef tanks and touched into breeding clownfish.
I always felt limited by how much money I could spend and just feeling like I wasn’t able to give the animals the care I wanted to.
I am very blessed to now as an 18 year older have the opportunity and the money to build my dream system. I hope you all will enjoy coming along the journey with me!
so here is how it stands - main display tank is a 120 gallon drilled aqueon tank which is lit by a 48 in t5 led hybrid with 2 radion xr15 blues with diffusers. Flow is provided by 2 mp40’s and 3 mp10’s all with anemone guards. This tank drains into a triton 44 sump with a large refugium lit by an ai prime fuge led along with some submersible tunze lights. The skimmer is a regal 200INT 8” reef octopus hooked up to a co2 scrubber. The return pump is a vectra m2. The whole system runs on an apex with a trident and 4 Neptune dos. Heaters will be 1000 watts of heater elements controlled by the apex. The Neptune dos dosing pumps will be for- auto water changes, No3po4x dosing, chaetogrow dosing, 2 part, and auto feeding. Auto feeding will happen intermittently through the day from a small yeti cooler drilled with a tube next to the tanks. In the food will be food for all the fast metabolism fish like anthias and chromis, as well as food for the corals, and various korallen zucht products. There is a vectra s2 plumbed externally to power a manifold from the sump which runs through a sediment filter, a carbon reactor, a cryptic biomedia reactor, and then finally a 40 watt uv sterilizer with a flow monitor before it to target different pests and parasites.
The return from this sump will split, with one return going to the 120 gallon and another line splitting off to feed 4 other displays.
Livestock in the 120 will be tangs, wrasses, dwarf lions, ribbon eels, maroon clowns, and some other small but mean fish.
corals will be mainly sps, but some lps and softies lower down.
the display next, to the left of the 120 gallon is a 25 gallon 18” cube from mr Aqua. I drilled this tank and put an x Aqua in out overflow/return. This will be a seahorse, pipefish, mandarin, and shrimpfish tank with clams, electric flame scallops, feather dusters, inverts, gorgonians, and sea fans.
This tank will be lit by 1 radion xr15 with a diffuser, and it’s flow will be one mp10.
next is a 32 gallon tank lit by an xr15 with a diffuser and a 24 in orphek blue plus led strip. This tank also has only one mp10.
livestock will be a little community reef, lots of anemones, lps, sps, and inverts.
3rd tank is a 11 gallon tank lit by a an ai prime. This tank will be a soft coral/Xenia refugium with a frog fish.
4th tank will be a 7.5 gal 12in cube larval nursery with an extremely slow turnover, an air stone, and a heater.
All these extra 4 tanks will drain into a 75 gallon that will be an extra refugium, a cuttlefish tank, and a garden eel tank (split up up course)
not sure what I’m gonna do for flow in the 75, but the light will be 2 ai primes and more tunze lights. This 75 will then drain into the triton sump.
That’s what my system is gonna look like. I have all the components bought, all my Aquascapes are finished, and I have some of my animals in QT.
