I recently bought an overflow box and drilled 2 holea in the tank. Then i realize the drain holes were inly 1/2 in for my 120g tank. Im screwed lol, so my question is what if i were to drill 1 more hole and silicone a skimmer for bean animal overflow. Does the 3 hole have to be different height? Can 2 be same hieght? Or is my tank i drilled screwed lol... sad day.

Is also possible to enlarge the holes.

Trace the inside dimension of the 1" gasket and use a slow drip of water and a dremel with a diamond bit. I have fixed small holes like this before and it's not pretty but it works.

If it is half inch glass, I would even try to use a larger hole saw but there is a huge potential for breaking the tank if you aren't square and very steady.

Well not the holes on the tank its the holes in the overflow they are 1/2 in holes. I drilled 1in holes in the glass.

Do you have a picture? Bean animal will certainly help. What overflow were you looking to use originally?
I was thinking about getting a cpr retrofit overflow box.

The picture on their web site show a bean set up. Not sure how you can do this with the bulkheads extending that far into the box. They do say you can do 3/4 inch pipe in that box.

Contact modular marine. Perhaps the spacing for the holes in your tank are the same on their larger overflow boxes. They are helpful folks, tell them the issue and see what threy suggest.

so with threaded part of the bulkhead stick out so far out there is no room or blocks the holes, for the standpipes? Now that's acrylic and a different story. Is this right?
The holes your drilled are in the overflow box. Right?
Foxt has a good idea. Maybe a bigger box.

You can trim the bulkeads to leave enough threads for the nut, and nothing more.

Its the holes inside the overflow box itself. all 3 holes are 1/2 inch im worried wont be good enough for 120g tank. I was thinking about drilling a third hole and buying a new overflow box and silicone it on to the tank.
I contacted modular marine they want me pay like 130 plus shipping to make one for the tank. Where i can buy a cpr retrofit for half the price.

Can you sell the 800gph modular marine you have, and buy a whole new 800gph setup from them with 3/4" holes instead of 1/2" holes? I thought they offered both sizes as options?

Actually, let's also take a step back. What kind of flow rate.do you want through your overflow?

Since you have two holes drilled and have the bulkhead fittings, run a herbie. You won't have to have an overflow box.
Been drilling my own tanks and running herbies for years.
