Its a 30 gallon Oceanic cube
175W Coralife HOT HQI MH fixture with Ushio bulb (12000k), the hood part is completely gutted and rebuilt with 5mm UV tempered glass UV shield and 4" cooling fan.
CPR backpack skimmer (really hate it, it never works right)
2 MJ 1200s
Magnum 350 canister filter
DIY auto-topoff
~30Lb LR with very shalow crushed coral sandbed ( just for looks)
Parameters:
salinity 1.025
Alk ~8-9 DKH
Ca ~ 400-420
Never test PH, nitrates, phosphates or any other stuff
Maitnance:
10% water change with Reef Crystals every week( used to do with tap but recently got RO unit)
Dose B-Ionic daily, corals consume about 15ml a day
Recently started to sode Coral Vite and Coral Booster (vitamins, amino acids, trace) No comment on the results yet
I strongly beleive in running Carbon and fosban. (corals went from brown to WOW after phosban was added)
Fish and inverts:
1 Twin spot yellow wrasse
bunch a snails (asterina I think)
Red Fromia star
Emerald crab
Clam
Corals:
Tri color acro
Green fuzzy acro
Blue tip acro
Green and pink birdsnest
Green, red and purple shrooms
Pink Pocilopora
Green Pocilopora
Neon green open brain
Frogspawn
Kenya tree
Green candy cane
Brown with purple tips Digi
Green with purple polyps cap
Orange cap
Yellow turbinaria
The tank went through a 90% wipe in June due to failed UV shield on my HQI MH. All corals in my tank suffered 80-90% complete tissue burnoff. Lost my Dwarf lion, green birdsnest and most of my pink birdsnest, Pretty much a complete restart. Tank went through a rough cycle and all the corals excapt mentioned above regrew back from the tissue left on the bottom of branches, recrusted and took off again. So all you see there is growth since June.
Thats the story of the 30G ^^, tell me if I missed any setup details.
