Hello everyone, small puzzling question.

I have brown dusty algae on rock, and green dust algae on glass that comes back in 20 minutes or less. It comes off super easy however.

I had an established 55g tank set up.

Decided to upgrade my tank to a 120.

I read on methods to accomplish this and chose one.

The new 120 is a used tank that I scrubbed spotless, but still used.

I transfered 60lbs of rock and added about 35lbs more of new rock that I bleach cleaned and let dry for 2 months. Rinsed and tested rock for anything that I might of missed.

When I initially set this tank up. I used my water change water to fill up roughly 40g into the new tank. I also included a clean up crew and roughly 25lbs of my rock into the tank. I lightly fed every 2 days for my clean up crew.

I tested Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. Nitrate stayed at 5 the entire process.

Finally decided to transfer everything after 7 days.

Placed another 30g of my tank water, all my rock, corals, and 3 fish.

My levels were on day 1 and day 4 after full transfer.

Ammonia : 0
Nitrite : 0
Nitrate : 5
Mag : 1350
Alk : 9
Calc : 460

The really only new thing in this tank is the pvc plumbing in the sump, and return pump.

I also started dosing 5ml of phytoplankton every other day.

My sump is setup as follows

2 socks
Refugium
Media reactor 1 - filterfloss
Which goes into media reactor 2 directly with activated carbon. I had a lot of success with this filter floss method from my last tank.

Then return pumps back.

As before this algae comes off super easy like dust, however my water is not as clear anymore.

By day 8, my tests make me wonder dinos though doesn't seem like it.

Ammonia : 0
Nitrite : 0
Nitrate : 0? Salifert can't detect it.
PO4 - .03 (Hannah)

So am I just going through another ugly phase? My 55g was never this bad.

Note I'm also running about 900gph after I calculate for reduction through my sump.

If I missed anything place let me know.

Just trying to confirm uglies or not.

Video of tank. Ignore the rock with the leather, he didn't want to give up that rock. But it's a old rock
