Hi,

I'm not wanting to mount my eb8 to my stand and I was thinking about placing it in one of those watertight outdoor boxes. I was curious if that would cause the life expectancy of the EB8 to be impacted.

Thank you

Electronics do not get along well with excessive moisture or heat.
It will depend on how hot it gets.
Mounting it above a light fixture or next to a heat vent might cause a premature failure.

the EB8 should be fine, the EB832 has a cooling fan and needs some airflow.

It depends on how much the encloser can conduct the internal heat out.

It would be a plastic box so it won't conduct heat out very well. It would have some small openings where the cords enter/exit but other than pretty restricted air flow.

You would be surprised how much heat the plastic conducts. But there is not a simple answer. Ambient temperature and air flow matter as well.
