I noticed these yesterday on the base of my Acan. The only other inhabitants, (that I know of) in the tank are trochus and nassarius snails, skunk cleaner shrimp and a orange spotted goby. They are only on my acan and nowhere else in the tank. Any ideas on what these could be? I started the tank with dry rock, so if it is a pest, it would have made it through on a dipped frag plug.

It has been up since December, so about 3 and a half months.
Once they use up the majority of the silicates in your system they'll greatly decrease in population or disappear entirely. They boom and bust in newer systems around the 6 month mark you'll likely see very few (every system is different but this is the point where the "bust" has happened in the majority of my systems over the years). So don't panic if they suddenly all disappear.
