I bought a new eheim jager 150w heater for my 40g and it been on for 3 days now and my tank won't exceed 68f. It claims it's good for a tank up to 75g. The room my aquarium is in is around 65f.
Any ideas ?
Thanks !

First off, welcome to R2R.

Is the little red light still on? Are you simply relying on the temperature set point on the ring? If so, you first need to calibrate the heater....that outer ring rotates to calibrate the heater to the actual temperature.

The red light hasn't shut off and I left it on max setting the whole night and it still hasn't went over 68

Hmmmm! With the light on, and keeping the heater underwater, grab the lower part....is it warm?

Another thought.....how are you measuring temperature....could that not be recording the temperature correctly?

Funny, I just had the opposite problem with one of these heaters. A 125W on a 46 gallon. No matter how I turned it down it kept coming on and overheating my tank! Definitely a few duds out there. Glad to hear you found one that's working well for you, and welcome to R2R. :)
