Hello! I’ve had this elegance coral for about 3 months now, and just recently hasn’t opened up fully in a while. I’ve been testing everything, and it’s all been good and normal, no fluctuations or odd things showing up. Every other coral is doing fine too among zoas, a toadstool, cloves, BTAs, gsp, xenias. Note that the picture looks much more blue than the lighting is in real life, my phone saturates the blue a ton. But anyways, the elegance is still very colorful and doesn’t look weird besides the fact that it’s just been kind of shriveled up. It’s gently resting on a hunk of live rock alone, is well lit (at the same level as a toadstool and anemones that are thriving).
I do a canister filter without sponge pads + a protein skimmer. Water changes about 20-40% bi weekly, but have enough clean up crew (snails+dwarf hermits) to keep algae and waste under control, look pretty clean in there.
Any ideas or help? Thank you.

Look up ECS or Elegance Coral Syndrome.

AFAIK there is no know cause or sure-fire treatment and most end up in a slow decline to death.

I think anecdotally, people believe it has to do with the artificial environment something critical that can't be replicated in home tanks (ie, water depth/pressure) or its dependent on specific genotypes/species/or even down to individual colonies.
