Hi, is my Elegance coral healthy? I have donde two dips already in 2 weeks. I started bc it did not open as wide and happy as it did when purchased 3 weeks ago. One dip I did with two little fishies formula and a second dip with Seachem iodine dip solution. The coral seems to open at times but looks unhappy and I see some slime coming out of different parts of the skeleton (see first pic). Water parameters are all fine (rest of SPS and LPs are great). It’s just this elegance who seems strange. At times skeleton is clearly visible. Thanks!

Elegances like slightly dirtier water in my experience, that may be the issue. What are your nitrate and phosphate parameters? What other LPS’s do you have in your tank?

Have you tried spot feeding it?

Thanks so much. Nitrate is 5, phosphate is almost 0. I have 1 acropora, 2 stylophoras and 6 montiporas. The elegance coral does like it when I target feed it. But do you think it has an infection? I don’t think the slime is normal. Thanks again.

Hi, the elegance coral is getting worst everyday. The rest is thriving. I have moved it around to places with less light, and made 3 dips already in 3 weeks. How can I save it?

Leave it in the subdued lighting. Stop torturing it with dips. It looks healthy enough to come around. Eventually. If the tentacles have not lost their stickiness yet, you might try gently squirting some coral food or newly hatched brine shrimp at it. Gently.
