Started back up in April with a Frag pack and new lease on tank after a friend told me get your life together lol

Dosing all aquaforest 123 at the moment balling method only 7Ml per day

Still running aquaforest probio salt just did last water change five days ago. Going to order a new bucket this weekend.

Got all my Hanna test kits in running alk at 9.7 for a week or two now so glad I got it dialed in holding steady!
Calcium is high at 536 but since using balling method going to let it rock for some times and keep dosing
Mag at 1500 going to also leave it alone since running balling method and alk is steady at a responsible levels!

Did some mods and rescape so to speak!

Put my DP4 doser diy mod from you tube eat sleep reef and did front facing wall mounted. Was able to turn old acrylic bracket into a self for my Hanna checkers!

Also my DIY VoSs dosing containers are working perfectly!

frags are doing good still no loses in months at this point!

Clam is happy and has grown 1/4 its size I’ve purchased it

Across are growing and color really staring to come in after nothing but green for months. I did clip on Frag the tri color valdia the cuts died but the main frags all new growth is a beautiful purple color and one branch has almost grown bigger than all branches after 1.5 months compared the others been in tank 8 months something to be said about that experiment

Monti island is a thing all 4 are going to touch any day now. Mystic reef tech chilling pepper tyree rainbow will be one!!!!

Zoas are zoas and popping new babies! I also added a Rose BTA last week it has been doing well in more or less the same spot for a week showing brief moments of bubbles no clown action as the live in the zoas Smh

Tanks for looking loving my tank lately and really considering purchasing a pack of corals very soon now!!!

So just order some replacement salt aquaforest probiotic. I’m not dowsing the other two additives as I don’t want to try and go full ulns when I’m not testing for it. But I do like the benefits aside from dirty glass no algae issues at all for months now.

Also picked up some new di resin for my RODI unit as it’s almost brown up too the top. Going to get the duel tds meter as well.

Thinking about getting some carbon putting it in a mesh bag and tossing near return.... any ideas?

Want to start a fuge. Would you say go HOB or get rid of filter sock in one of the chambers and run it there?
Would I need a power head to tumble the cheato?
Could I put the same wrap around lights used on diy reactor on back glass in strips facing inwards remove the black vinal?
I prefer a diy solution over buying something so to speak to an extreme though

Happy New Years!!!

Reef is doing great and really coming along!!

All colors have taking very well to the aquaforest set up probiotic salt on my second bucket and components 123+ on my diy front facing Dp4 doser using DIY 800ml Voss Glass dosing containers! Everything went very well and is working great!

I’m dosing Balling method only 6ml per day of each over 5 doses throughout the day to keep everything stable. Calcium is steady at 485 and mag in the 1500’s but my ALK is holding steady beautifully at 9.5 average throughout the Day for over a month and a half now and it’s what I’m setting the mark on and I think it’s finally super stable and rocking!

Corals are all doing very well have not lost a thing in a long time! Have made lots of frags and tank is starting to look grown in agian!

The hurricane last year killed what was a very full reef you could see no rock but I think a year from now she will be back to her former glory!

Been saving up for some frags and it’s almost time to fill her up agian. My stock list for the year I’m Going to shoot for a battle box of 4 Montis as I have a thing for em! I have a island with 6 that have all grown into each other and looking forward to adding more!
Also looking to get some torch corals for left side of tank.
Would love two more clams.
Would love to add a few more acans as they grow really fast and I like them a lot.
My clowns seem to love hosting the zoas so maybe a few more to make a nice big bed they can sleep in!

I need a new pump both of mines are on there way out so going to pick something up this weekend forsure any suggestions? Can’t afford a mp10 so what’s next?

Got some new stuff ordered for tank today.

Nice new media reactor too run my aquaforest carbon and aquaforest zeo mix stacked looking forward to it arriving.

Also got wife to sign off on a new pump so going to to go with a mp10wqd but question does the WQD mean I can control pump from app with out me having to purchase anything else?

Also picked up some Hanna alk reagents and di water for the calcium checker.

Since my reef fuel has finished on pump 4 I went ahead and ordered acro power to add to the doser heard some good stuff about it so hoping it works well with my aquaforest set up.

Last but not least added a new Acan to the tank! Just dropped in tank but nice 11 heads tri color

Added a media reactor to tank today with some aquaforest zeo mix will stack with aquaforest carbon on Thursday when it arrives.

Got a Aquatop Mr-20 went together super easy and work right away!

Think I’m going to ditch my filter sock as I hate cleaning it. And will be running carbon and zeomix so should not really need it to catch anything with a skimmer and mangroves and return pump and media reactor pump all flowing water and picking it up.

And drop reactor in that chamber out of site.

Also turns out my Acan Frag I bought has two different types on it a purple Acan as well only two heads

Found it online called looney tunes Acan has about 8 heads

I glued it down to a bigger Frag plug to grow on

My new baby I picked up from lfs last week. Saw it in the $20 Frag tank and after close inspection I saw two green and yellow specs I said no way for 20 bucks.

The red and orange larger head was broken in half and had a piece hanging off so I said hey can I have the damaged one (that i fragged today and think will make it) he said sure $15 bucks!!!

And now at home it’s puffed up I’m almost sure I have three heads of an ultra Acan growing in my tank! I think it looks most like a plutonium Acan. Super happy.

I Now have 6 varieties of acans. And can move on too my next set of corals

In other news

My Aquaforest zeolite mix stacked with aquaforest carbon seems to work but no tumble in my carbon so think I need to add a mj1200 instead of the pump the aquatop came with. Also I put it in the tank chamber instead of HOB


Going to also grab the aquaforest phosminus to stack on top as well.

Going to grab a green Hanna checker for my phos to check it out before I add more to the reactor.

I’m thinking of lowering my dosage 1 ml to see if I can get alk to drop below 9 currently holding stable for a while now at 9.4 I dropped it 1 ml and now running 9.1 I believe aquaforest ulns system requires sub 8 for zeolites to really work so working on that.

Removed my filter sock. Although there’s more stuff circulating in tank the Idea of never having to think about cleaning it agian makes me so happy lol [emoji23]

Clowns are coming closer and closer to my BTA everyday. They host a patch of zoas near by but I’m telling you this weekend might be the one [emoji23]

Update

Added a Gyre 1K love it!

Added two new frags a forest fire digi and a WWc grafted sunfire monti

Monti island is in full effect!

Tank is doing well at 8Dkh for some time now.
Still running aquaforest balling method carbon and zeomix in a reactor.

Added acro power to doser as well and man things started to pop! Entire top shelf glows under the blues.

Have not lost anything in many many months

Water test Tuesday looking good guys and gals!

Test result after 1 month no water change! Tommarow I’ll be doing my monthly tank maintenance.

5 gallon water change with probiotic salt.

Clean skimmer all the way

Change out aquaforest zeolites

Change out aquaforest carbon

Pull media reactor from in tank and clean it out!

6months of aquaforest has done me well I must say everything is in line! And looking great!

Going to add pro bio s and phosphate minus also aquaforest build along with a stronger pump for media reactor this week!

Did you ever pull your filter socks? I do not use them or any filter pads. I let the detritus collect and my nitrates still have stayed between 1-2ppm. I will throw in a couple of filter pads for a day when I blow off the rocks and barebottom, but that is it.
