@iamurri33 Good job! :) Assuming you are using Cupramine, you will want to hold the level @ 0.5 ppm for 4 weeks. Fallow period for velvet (in your DT) is 6 weeks, but I personally would go fallow for 76 days just in case ich is also in the system.

Moving forward, you will want to closely monitor ammonia in all the QTs. That can kill fish just as quickly as velvet. When you do a WC, mix the appropriate amount of Cupramine to the freshly mixed SW in the bucket before adding to the QT. The objective here is to ensure the therapeutic level of copper never drops below 0.5 at any given time (very important as you never know what stage of velvet is currently active in your QT.)

So if I take 15 gal out tomorrow I have to put the amount of cupramine it calls for for 15 gal? Goal is to keep copper at .5 and no higher right?

It's okay that I have a little sand in the corners that I couldn't get out right?

Exactly. Hold the line at 0.5 ppm in your QTs. To keep it simple, add 20 drops of Cupramine per 5 gallons of water when doing water changes. So, that's 60 drops for a 15 gal WC. You have to remember that Cupramine's instructions on the bottle tells you to dose once, wait 48 hrs and then dose again; so you have to double that first day dosage when doing water changes. Makes sense?

That should be fine. But get either a Seachem or Salifert copper test ASAP so you can start measuring the Cu level. Cupramine's instructions tend to sometimes be on the low side.

My bottle says 20 drops per 10 gallon. Then wait 48 hours and dose again. So in 2 days I will dose it again. At 20 drops per 10 gal riggt? I'm I'm a little lost here now lo

So after the 2 days is over I double that every wc. So dose at 20 drops per 10 gallon or 40 drops per 10 gallon?

^^ This is the dosage you want to use when doing water changes.
You know what's weird? My copper level are always low even at recommended dosage. I am assuming those 2 pieces of tiny live rocks and Matrix inside HOB are absorbing some of it

Let me ask you something, did you already have saltwater mix when you started out your hospital tank or are you using tap water along with water conditioner?
