I would say we would pick maintenance stuff such as water, food and chemicals or 1k worth of zoas because we want a zoa garden or several zoa gardens.

The single most underrated piece of equipment that I would recommend to people is a Stenner pump for automatic water changes. It requires a little more space because you need a permanent saltwater storage container, but with the psi that the Stenner pumps put out, you can have it far away and route your tubing through the attic. I have two Stenners, one for each of my systems, and the best part i that they don't cost $1000. They're less than $400 :)
