....AND secondly.... I'd like to announce new parents to the group, my "donis reef" snowcasso second generation(born of my first generation pair) has now become a momma .. the dad is a frostbite clownfish. This is their first batch they layed last night. Guess I'm doing something right. Female about 2 years old. Male is about a year and a half.

Here's a few more pics of the clown eggs. Theres about 50 eggs on the silicone bead. Kind of excited. Might want to try and catch the next batch and raise them... any tips? Live rotifers, phyto?

Thank you. Inthinknim gonna try to raise the next clutch. I think a snowcasso and frostbite should be a cool mix.

So today I stopped at @aquariumcarecenter and as always things looked great. I picked up a new frag and a new fish... even though i only planned on getting my LRS food.

I picked up am ausi black torch for an awesome price and also got a flame hawk(I've been trying to find one locally for a while now)

Here's a couple pics

So last night my clowns layed their second batch, it's about double what they layed last time. So now I'm gonna start tracking them on the calendar and hopefully plan on raising a batch in the near future.

Wow! The torch is looking amazing! And now adding in a new one as well, plus still-spawning clowns? Pretty awesome times you have going.

I've been wanting a flamehawk for awhile, but can't get one since they eat crustaceans. They're so hilarious to watch.

Thank you, and yea I dont have to worry about crustaceans, my bird wrasse made sure of it. Lol. He even takes out turbo snails that are the size of gold balls. Hes my one major mistake purchase in this tank. And I cant catch him for the life on me.

Thank you so much. This tank has been a culmination of everything I've learned over the years. I've done sps only tanks and soft tanks and of course I started with a FOWLR, but this was a total mix reef, the hardest by far to get right. I have everything from acropora/anacropora to nps gorgonians and zoas to euphelia. And of course probably you many fish but I dont know what I love more coral or fish. So I got both. Lol.

Probably in about a year or so I'm gonna start looking into a custom built tank.

So, starting my new sump build. My existing sump is a 20g long u der my table in the stand. So it holds about 12 gallons working. I have a 75g acrylic tank that was previously used for a sump that I acquired for cheap(free) I removed all the old baffles, to prepare for the ones I want. Some were partly glued some were siliconed in. I'm not gonna go crazy sanding and buffing bc after all it's just a sump. I'm gonna need some input for the first chamber as I'm not sure how I wanna do it. I'm not a huge fan of filter socks... but not sure what I want. I do have a course filter pad that will go between the first and second chamber and a polishing pad between the skimmer and the return chamber.
As you can see on the right side I made a 15 gallon water change compartment, so I eont have to shut the tank down to do a water change. Just have to turn off the manifold valve that runs the chamber and open the drain valve to the sewer pipe.
