I would really like to add a utility sink to my laundry room, it is where my mixing station is. The problem is there is no drain except the one for the washing machine. Has anyone ever tapped into that as the drain for a sink? Any issues to be aware of? Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you're looking for. I hooked up a filter to our laundry room sink complete with an extra faucet. It just filters the water that is in the sink and stores it in a large jar.

When we built our house, I ran all the aquarium drain and return lines under the floor in the slab. In AZ, they don’t build basements. The family room tank (250 gallon) is 45’ away from the fish room. The game room tank (130 gallon) is 25’ away. In the fish room (8’x10’) I had a concrete sump pit put into the floor. The pit is 48”Lx32”Wx48”D. It is about halfway full of water. I did put in a sink and a floor drain in the room. The builder also suggested that we make the floor one step down incase of a flood. When the garage floor was being coated, I had them coat the fish room floor also since the floor is concrete. When you watch the video the 105 gallon storage tank is above the sump pit. A matching storage tank is on the other side of the room for mixed SW. It’s still a work in progress.

Cut the floor drains and sump pump in. Recently had to redo my leach field for my septic and decided to install a grey (salt) water runoff into the woods to help from contaminating my septic with salt water. I have installed support joist and sistered all the joist where aquarium will sit. Currently installing frp for the walls. Have been taking pictures along the way will start a build thread soon. Still haven’t done a thread showing my existing tanks. Really excited about all the room I will have and how much simpler maintenance will become not having to squeeze under the tank to get to sump. Room is 12x13. My wife is almost as excited knowing she will be getting her laundry room back

Its my dream to run a tank with as little equipment as necessary. Looking into my upcoming setup only using 5-6-7 plugs. Light. Return Pump. Heater. Refugium light or Skimmer (unsure which way to go), and two power heads, possible a doser.

I have my 150 plumbed into my garage. I have always dreamed of a room and it finally came true in January of this year. This isnt the whole setup. I have a mixing and testing station to the right. This is a screenshot I took of a live camera feed I have on the equipment. I know, obsessed much??

We moved recently, and the best part is there is a room in the basement I have deemed my fish room. My RO/DI, saltwater mixing station, dosing chemicals, test kits, filter socks and other equipment is in this room. I absolutely LOVE IT!

And how do I get one of those AWESOME R2R Controller mounting boards??!!

I have a dedicated room, called "Backwoods Lab", aka shipping container. Instead of moonshine, we're trying to raise NPS softies. It's in the boonies. Hot as heck out there. .....heeeeee

Well, skimmer gets rid of physical fish poop and mucus. Carbon doesn’t. Filter cup does, but then it’s a nutrient source if you don’t change it out enough. The fuge takes up nutrients released by the decaying matter.

Personally, I get rid of the bulk stuff with the skimmer, and deal with dissolved nutrients by feeding macro in the fuge.

Don’t run a reactor off the return. It’s a pain to dial the pump in and out if you want to keep the overflow constant.

I have a fuge manifold off my return and I can’t do anything in the fuge without it affecting my overflow. I’m about to rip it out and put the fuge on a 500gph pump out of the return chamber.

I run 2 reactors off a mini manifold with its own pump. Little $15 400gph thing. Far easier and less hassle to run it like that.
